'Improving Executive Performance under pressure' - Executives are under more pressure to perform and improve the performance of those working with and for them. We are living in a world of demanding more for less. Individuals have less time and often resources to produce even greater returns. There is a massive correlation between the ability to perform under pressure in sport and in business. Many Executives are bombarded with the advantages of youth and potential improvement and ‘you can’t teach old dogs new tricks’. The age of obsolescence is getting lower, disregarding a wealth of invaluable experience and maturity which has cost business millions to develop. ‘’I totally disagree with this mindset and passionately believe that it is never ever too late to improve ’’ Dave Alred, 2003 This is a course that adopts a unique approach. It uses golf performance as a metaphor for learning to improve the ability to perform under pressure. Why golf? It’s 95% mental, can be very frustrating, unpredictable, has destroyed confidence and is not dependant on levels of fitness or age. Add value to the rest of your life: Although this course is targeted to performing under pressure in the work place, the impact will affect the rest of your life, in terms of mindset to challenges and attitude to personal health and well being. The course is aimed at Executives who play any standard of recreational golf, but who want to improve their own ability to perform more effectively in business. It is ideal for those who believe they can perform adequately but want to develop their skills of developing others to improve their ability to perform in a pressurized environment. Delegates with higher handicaps will experience the greatest improvement in their golf game. This event includes the causes of pressure and explores a variety of strategies so that the individual is able to improve their own performance and enhance the ability of others to become more effective under pressure. The tempo is intense but enjoyable and rewarding. Delegates will be in potentially pressured situations but will learn the discipline and routines of performing to their optimum level of performance. Topics covered include • Understanding the constructs of pressure • How to manage the impact of pressure • Learning to recognise pressure in others and effective ways to support other people’s performance • The impact of posture and body language • The tension of process versus outcome when pressure increases • Sensory shutdown and decision making • The impact of pressure on health • Developing personal programmes and routines to improve performing under pressure outcome Teams leave the workshop with a set of coaching techniques that they can apply immediately back at the workplace. If they have participated in a practical golf session they will also have improved their game! testimonial "We were delighted, it was just the right tempo and fit etc. Dave played it just right and he has good emotional intelligence, reading the room right helped alot. SO, the feedback on the whole event at Brocket Hall was terrific with a resounding call for us to repeat the formula; Dave got a big tick." - Jill Ader, Senior Consultant, Egon Zehnder
